Established in 2022, the MSU College of Human Medicine Detroit Campus at Henry Ford Hospital provides students with immersive training in a tertiary and quaternary care environment.
Approximately 30 third- and fourth-year medical students complete their clerkships through this campus. Service learning and volunteer opportunities connect students directly to the Detroit community, including street medicine, free clinics, shelters, community health programs, and mentoring premedical students.

Henry Ford Health and MSU College of Osteopathic Medicine (COM) have a long-standing partnership that continues to grow. As active members of MSU COM’s Statewide Campus System, Henry Ford hospitals in Grand Blanc, Jackson, Macomb, Madison Heights, Warren and Wyandotte continue to expand opportunities for MSU students.
MSU COM is partnering with Henry Ford Hospital on a Scholarly Activity Clerkship Pilot program. The program integrates research into clerkship training, encouraging students and residents to engage in research while advancing patient safety, quality of care, and clinical outcomes.

The demand for a highly skilled nursing workforce continues to grow. Through this collaboration between Henry Ford and MSU, the ABSN program has expanded to allow more MSU nursing students to complete their training at the Henry Ford campuses.

Six new departments in the MSU College of Human Medicine – dermatology, otolaryngology, pathology, radiation oncology, urology, and neurosurgery – have been established through the partnership.
Each new department will be statewide with faculty from Detroit to Marquette, with most faculty based at Henry Ford Health locations across southeast and south-central Michigan. These departments expand educational and research opportunities for College of Human Medicine students and improve their access to residency programs in those medical specialties.

See how Henry Ford + MSU is transforming health education and shaping the future of medicine and discovery through the work of our educators and students.
