Henry Ford + MSU Health Innovation Leadership Academy

Henry Ford Health + Michigan State University Health Sciences is pleased to announce the opening of nominations for the partnership’s new Health Innovation Leadership Academy.

The Health Innovation Leadership Academy will provide emerging leaders with science-based team building, problem-solving, and leadership skills that will expand relationships and collaboration between the two institutions.

This initiative combines employees from Henry Ford and MSU to foster cross-organizational learning, strengthen team dynamics, and build shared skills for future projects.  

All nominations were due by Friday, June 13, 2025, at 11:59 p.m

Submission Information

After an individual has been nominated, the nominee is required to complete a commitment form by Friday, June 13, which will be shared with the leadership academy committee. The Henry Ford and MSU nominees that are selected to participate in the Health Innovation Leadership Academy for the Fall 2025 cohort will be notified via email by Monday, June 30, 2025.

The commitment form will be sent via email to nominated Henry Ford and MSU employees.

  3. Drive innovation through interdisciplinary thinking
  4. Establish lasting networks for impact

The cohort will meet on the third Friday of every month from September through May for nine half-day didactic sessions, alternating between the Henry Ford (Detroit) and MSU (East Lansing) campuses.

The program will incorporate:

  • Case Studies and Problem-Solving Workshops
    Real-world health care and academic challenges analyzed collaboratively.
  • Interactive Team Exercises
    Designed to improve communication, trust, and teamwork.
  • Expert-Led Sessions
    Insights from thought leaders in healthcare, education, and team development, including Henry Ford and MSU executives.
  • Project-Based Learning
    Collaboration on innovative initiatives that address key challenges and opportunities.

 

For the Fall 2025 cohort, only 12 Henry Ford employees and 12 MSU employees will be invited to participate in the program.

  1. Nominees must meet the following criteria:
  2. Must be an employee of Michigan State University or Henry Ford Health A minimum of three years of experience
  3. Demonstrate an interest and the potential for leadership roles
  4. Has managed a team or program
  5. Completed some leadership development courses

The Henry Ford and MSU nominees that are selected to participate in the Health Innovation Leadership Academy for the Fall 2025 cohort will be notified via email by Monday, June 30, 2025.
